1 And 1 Internet - 1 & 1 Internet - 1&1 Internet - 1and1 Internet - 1and1.com web-hosting Rebill Scam Hiding In The Fine Print

Read the rest of the reports and you'll see it's the same thing going on.

You sign up for a "monthly" service but buried in the fine fine print is a clause stating that you have to officially cancel service. The problem is that the cancellation process is incredibly difficult to even locate, harder to use and a massive waste of time.

Worse, if you miss the fine print, they send their pathetic $12 to a collection agency, who charges an additional $18 "collection fee", plus a completely bogus $8 "credit card processing fee."

So basically they hold you hostage, kidnap your credit rating and force you to pay for their crap service, not matter what you do.

That "credit card processing" fee has already been reported, so NCO financial (the collection agency) you might want to check your mail.

Do NOT use 1 & 1. Not just because of the details involved here, but also because their service just plain stinks.

Their interface is slow, painful to use, unintuitive, unhelpful, buggy and just plain ugly.

Everything is done with "invoices" which can't be connected together easily.

Their billing system is a complete joke.

But the worst thing is the absolutely horrible attitude of every one of their employees that I talked to. From sales, to customer service to tech support, not ONE of their employees even pretended to care about taking care of any issues I had.

They are all angry, mindless drones who just want to hit their quota of calls for the day and don't care a whit about the image of the company or the level of "service" they provide.

The last billing rep I talked to actually laughed at me when I said I was filing a complaint.

Well let me tell you Michelle, here's usacomplaints.com.

Next comes the BBB.

The the PA attorney general.

But here's my favorite part: the chargebacks and reports to the credit card processing companies.

You are in violation with your rebill scam. I've already spoken to Mastercard. Visa, Discover and Amex come next. You're in contract violation and in all likelihood will lose your ability to accept credit cards.

Good luck with that.

Then the FTC.

They're really not happy with people making re-bill cancellations impossible.

Google "acai scam" and you'll see what I mean.

You guys are next.

My advice: straighten up. There are a LOT better companies out there for web services: namecheap for domain registration and hostgator for webhosting, for example. With your atrocious combination of poor service, poor customer service and scammy billing/collections, you're GOING to come under scrutiny eventually.

Readers, beware. These guys are bad news.
