I called 1and1.com support at the beginning of July to cancel my entire account, the representative informed me that he could not cancel my account but he could walk me through the entire process. After completing the cancellation process I confirmed with the representative that the account was in fact terminated. He confirmed the deletion of all products within the account and I disconnected with the certainty that I would not have to deal with this any longer. On 07/28 1and1.com charged my AMEX without permission for $53.94 to renew the domains I had previously canceled. Certain that it was a mix up I notified AMEX and they refunded my monies after contacting 1and1. I believe this entire experience to be behind me until today 03/08 I get a phone call from a collections agency informing me that 1and1.com has reported the negligent debt for the canceled account, even after AMEX had resolved the situation with them. I filed a BBB complaint as I am grossly disgusted with the poor business practices of 1and1. As business should not be done in this very dishonest manor I have scoured every which agency I may involve to not only convey my issue but also have this matter resolved permanently so that no other individuals will find themselves in this situation.
