Dell sold us a lemon and won't fix it!

We purchased a $1600.00 Dell laptop computer in May for our son for a high school graduation gift. The computer worked fine for about two weeks until the "mother board" fried. We contacted Dell and they sent a representative out to replace it. After that my son could not load any software disks into the computer without a beeping sound and none of them would work. Again, my son contacted Dell on line and they told him they could fix it, but is would cost him another $140.00 even though we have an extended warranty. They said software wasn't included. Remember the computer is only two months old. I contacted them again and a technician tried to fix it over the phone, but to no avail. He then transferred us to customer care and we were told they could only fix it if we paid for it. I called back a third time to try to speak with someone I could understand and was transferred about four times to different departments and was given the same answer each time. I was then told if I wanted to speak to someone in the United States, I could take out a plan for that. I said, "you mean I have to pay to speak to someone in the United States even though I am from there and purchased the computer there?" and the answer was yes. T then told them I was very disappointed and would never purchase another Dell product again and would pass the word along. So here it is!
