I signed up for classmates and filled in my data as necessary. But unbeknown to me, they setup your account as auto-renew by default. They debited my account $30. I never authorized this and was going to try and get rid of my account by calling their number listed on my bank account.
Lo and behold, I call the number and there's a recorded system that states off the bat that, their circuits are all busy (how quaint) and then after a few moments, the phone hangs up. You can never talk to anyone nor does their support form on the site work as noone answers you. This is a facade company in that they take your money and there's no way to get recourse for problems you might have.
I sent in a complaint to the FTC and stated the situation and that people here are getting ripped off by classmates the same way as I have. I have since changed the hidden setting from auto renew to manual. Really sneaky classmates.
I suggest anyone who has a problem like mine, contact the FTC website and file a complaint like I have. The FTC is a good place to look for help in unscrupulous businesses and illegitimate practices.
