My husband ordered a laptop from CEC back on Nov. 25,08, in the hopes that I would get it for Christmas. I admit, our credit was less than perfect, at that time.
We came into some money in early Februrary, and decided to just pay it off, and get the computer quicker&no such luck. We were then given a delivery date of April 24th. That date came and went&still no computer. So we called. Apparently, WE as consumers are supposed to keep track of when THEY send out OUR computer!
At this point, because we have waited SO LONG, and have PAID IN FULL, CEC decided to upgrade our laptop to an HP—bigger screen, more features, etc. We agreed. And with a delivery date of May 11th. It is now May 20th AND WE STILL DO NOT HAVE OUR LAPTOP!!!
I called them this morning, and the 'rep' informed me that 'due to ALL of the upgrades we gave you, it seams to be taking HP longer to manufacture the laptop. Your new delivery date is now June 1st.' Remember, we originally ordered this 'laoptop' on November 25!!! Our credit has been repaird since then, that we were able to purchase a home.
We are at odds. What can we do as consumers to put an end to this HUGE SCAM!?!? They have had our $2,000 since early Februrary. What can we do?
