As has been reported by others on the consumer complaints site, xxx Black Book, which purports to be an online adult dating and entertainment service for meeting people, tricks men to sign up for, and continue to paid for, their service by posting pictures and provocative profiles of women that are not actually members and whose profiles do not really describe who they really are.
When you send an E-mail to most of the women "members" pictured and profiled on the site, several days later you will get back a very short computer generated response of one or two lines that does not even respond to your E-mail and that is geared to trick you into keep sending E-mails to this non-existent person, and therefore keep paying a subscription paying member of xxx Black Book..
The proof of this is not only that the E-mail responses from these "women" don't make sense in the context of the E-mails you sent to them, are usually just a generic question that is only one or two sentences long, but also by the fine print buried deep in the "terms of service" for the site which admits they do this by the following language:
"H) Elite Profiles.
XXXBlackBook may, in its sole discretion, cause or allow you to be contacted by one or more Elite Profiles ("EP", "EPs") as a part of its "Elite Profile" feature. An EP may represent a person employed by XXXBlackBook or an affiliate of XXXBlackBook or an automated digital actor created by XXXBlackBook. Nothing contained in an EP is intended to describe or resemble any real person, and is included on the Website only for the personal enjoyment or entertainment of Users.
EPs are used to enhance your online experience, by (for example) stimulating communications with other Users, by introducing you to new or existing features of the Service, or by encouraging active participation on the Website. EPs may also be used to monitor User activities and communications to ensure compliance with these Terms.in the event that the User responds to a communication from an EP, the User may, but is not guaranteed to, receive one or more additional communications from such EPs. Any communication between you and an EP is for your personal enjoyment or entertainment. Nothing contained in this section shall create any right to, or expectation of, any communication between Users and EPs. You acknowledge that you understand that any communication by you with an EP is subject to these Terms.By agreeing to these Terms, you hereby authorize XXXBlackBook to use or allow one or more EPs to communicate with you via the XXXBlackBook Services."
In plain English that is to say that xxx Black Book reserves the right to, and indeed does continually, create fictititious people (i.E. People that do not "describe or resemble any real person" in their profiles) to communicate with you and that these communications will just be fictitious and not with real people. They do not tell you this is occurring. They just let you believe that you are communicating with real people. Don't count on ever meeting these people or having meaningful E-mail communiications with them because they do not exist.
AVOID THIS SITE unless you enjoy paying $40 a month to communicate with uninteresting computer generated people. Save your money for a real online dating service.
Also, this site will use your billing information to bill your credit card for services you didn't even order.in the course of about 6 successive days, my credit card was billed by xxx Black Book's credit card billing intermediary (epoch.com) on behalf of xxx Black Book and related entities many times to the tune of over $100 for services I did not even order. Who knows how long this would have continued until I cancelled my card.
