Checked my bank online and saw a charge for 99 dollars for a company called simple escapes. Called them said i signed up for their offer through aol and they got my info from aol ie. Credit card number, address etc.
This really pisses me off. First of all i never use aol as my internet service my 11 year old daughter does and the partners with aol such as this company (even though aol denies being partners but simple escapes said they are) cannot get my cc info unless im in my master screen name wich i never am.
So apperatly my dauhgter must have clicked on something about a free 25 gift card from kmart and they instantly billed me. They said it would be 5 to 10 bussindes days before i get my refund..
Contact aol and get them to remove you from their offers list permanitly and not to share your info with other companies. Im embarresed because i actually work for time warner aol and i cant beleive this crap is happening.
Also watch out for credit alert. Aol told me i will be billed 135 dollars on the 21st of april through the same crap situation.
I called credit alert they know nothing about it so im waitning to see if it happens if it does im going to be so pissed because i got checks that will bounce and im closing my bank account monday. Phone number for credit alert 8882896318 for aol billing and to get off their list (beware!!!
They will tell you they know nothing of simple escapes and refer you to partners promotion wich conventialy does not have a phone number only a address (bunch of bullshit if you ask me) 88826528008 and finaly the sorriest excuse for a company simple escapes 8884045629 note
I had to call4 times before i got a hold of someone who spoke decent english good luck.
