Mediacom has issued a "blanket credit" for ice storm victims (in my area?) of $5.90. I was without internet for 33 days, and was told it wasn't their fault, it was an "Act of God", and would be cut of if not paid immediately. They were rude, and didn't want to hear anything but "payment" for a full months service, for not only next month, but for the 33 days, minus 5.90, PLUS a $10 late fee. How many people are they doing this to? Do the math, they have insurance for this type of problem/event (disasters), plus they are making untold amounts from an unknown number of accounts? Who regulates these companies, and watches that they don't rip people off, and "cash in" on a "natural disaster"???
