Laptop Outlet Stole my Money!

In December I purchased a refurbished laptop online from Laptopoutlet.com for $400 $69 shipping. I received the laptop, which worked four times, and then the screen went blank never to be anything else again. I had to leave the country for a few weeks then attempted to contact Laptop Outlet by telephone, as the site and the paperwork guarantee the computer.

After numerous attempts to make contact, and after many messages left at their misnomered "customer service" line went unanswered; I filed a protest with my credit card company, which then credited back the charges. I had also written to them on February 1, but never received any response.

Only then, did Laptop Outlet attempt to make contact with me and only then through my credit card company. Despite it all, in a spirit of cooperation, I agreed to return the machine to them for repair in March. When I received it in April, the screen went blank and the machine overheated almost immediately; I was never able to use it. Throughout April and early May, I telephoned (even spoke to someone once who said he would give the information to his "supervisor") and emailed. After receiving no response, I again protested the charge to my credit card company in May. They investigated and found my complaint warranted. Laptop Outlet agreed to take back the machine for a full refund.

I packed it in its original packaging, including the buffer material inside the box, and even have evidence that the individual I was speaking with at Laptop Outlet accepted the return, signing the UPS delivery. And so it was over. I had my money back, and they had the laptop.

Months later, I received a call from Chase that Laptop Outlet claimed that the machine was damaged when I sent it and that they were therefore not responsible for the charges. The representatives from Chase said they knew my complaint was justified but their own rules are such that if the merchant insists, they must charge the cardholder. I asked what evidence Laptop Outlet presented to substantiate their claim. None, I was told. I notified Chase, then, that I would like to see Laptop Outlet's evidence. At the very least, if I was being charged, Laptop Outlet needed to send me the machine for which they charged me. I also sent the same message to Laptop Outlet. For quite some time afterward, I tried to work with Chase to get the charges reversed or get the laptop back, but I never got either.

Laptop Outlet has my money and the machine they charged me for! They repeatedly ignored my calls until Chase reversed the charges in multiple instances.

Laptop Outlet simply stole my money!!!
