I found an unfamiliar charge for 11.95 for Shopping essentials Plus on my debit card statement. When I called they stated that I had made a purchase from the Stitchery.com for a 20 rebate and a membership for this shopping essentials on 12/10/08. This is untrue. I sometimes make purchases and forget about the day or the amount of the charge, but I DO NOT CROSS STITCH and do not know anyone who does. I don't need a 20 rebate for any cross stitching items! They insisted I made the purchase but did finally take the charge off my card and cancelled my "trial membership". They quickly got me off the line and were not interested at all in the fact a fraudulent charge had been made by their company.
This is the second time in four months that I have received a fraudulent charge on my debit card. BE CAREFUL and check your statements regularly with a fine toothed comb. Take care of any questionable charges immediately!!
