My wife ordered a book from Amazon in April and it appears we have been charged regularly on our Citi credit card. The amounts have been as much as $15. She had no idea that this was automatic when she ordered the book.
I pay the bills and for some reason (maybe because I'm 70) I never paid attention to this charge. However we stopped using this credit card and so when I got the Jan statement it was the only item on the bill.
Apparantly we have been charged $139 in total since April.
How in the world could Amazon let a ripoff company piggyback their sales?
Obviously we would like our money back. Since we never knew anything about Smart Savings we never had any clue where one might save a dime.
This, in my opinion, is mail fraud and Smart Savings deserves to be tried as criminals. Amazon should also be liable as they allowed these leaches of society to invade their book selling site. I suppose there is a loophole that makes all very legal but somehow they have to be stopped.
