My wife recently ordered a DV through Amazon online. The DVD arrived in good condition. On her next credit card statement, she found a $19.95 charge from Smart Savings and contacted her credit card company. They were to look into the charge and get back. This month the same charge appeared from Smart Savings. When she called the credit card company again, she was advised it was a monthly membership charge from Smart Savings.
She contacted Smart Savings and was successful in getting the membership cancelled. I then contacted Amazon and was told that once I leave the Amazon site, Amazon cannot be responsible for the policies of anothe company. It would seem Amazon missed my point—don't sponsor sites that bilk the customer.
