After cancelling my credit card I cancelled my AOL account in writing by mail. Several months later I received a bill from them for around 48.00. I called the number on this bill and the woman told me I didn't cancel the right way, that I could not do it in writing. I said cancel it now then, and she said it is suspended for non payment and we are sending it to collections. A week later they sent me a letter saying they had done exactly that. Since when is cancelling something in writing by mail not 'the right way to do it'?
