I was searching for Ringtones for my cellphone, on these sites sometimes you have to become a member to use the sites, well I filled out the information page, clicked on the the page that has their terms of use policies, and conditions, it never came up, I do not ever inter into something I do not know what it's about so I X out of the site, I never clicked on agree!
But that didn't stop them... The next thing I know is my PC was taken over, got knocked offline, then came back online. But wasn't right... Then this box thing popped up... I X out of that too... Then disconnected myself from the internet.
Reconnected with my server... As soon as I got backonline, I was disconnected again, reconnected... Then I figured out what was causing it..
I totally had to delete it from my PC to get it from taking over.
Not thinking of it anymore till the day I recieved the bill, WHAT! $73.30 a totall of 15 min. That I wanted and had nothing to do with... This bill stated that I knowingly agreed to enter this XXX Site. That was and is a total lie.
The day I got the first letter I tryed to contact them via their 1800 customer service number, a recording directing me to their website, thus began my e-mail saga... The last responce I replyed to... I got no responce so I figured the matter was done..
NO I get a threatning letter next stating they on numerous accounts had tryed to contact me to resolve the past ammount... Well that too is a lie.
The only contact was from me and their lame responces back to my emails. I ask for the third party in which they say I am being billed for. To no responce... They just want their suposed money.
OK where do I go from here? I have tryed to contact them, the third party involved and nobody will assist me on their end.
I Have no clue as to who to contact or what to do annymore. I only know that I did not agree to anything they are saying I agreed to (they dialing this XXX site)
I was lulled into believing what I was entering into was a Ringtone membership and even at that I canceled totally X out of the site...
Then they took over. OK enough ranting I am sure more people have incountered the same ordeal, it's wrong... Fraud and a RIPOFF!
