A link under a picture of Ophra Winfrey led me to order a 'free' trial of Acai Berry. Seeing her picture and the supporting quote gave me confidence in ordering. I gave my debit card number to cover the shipping and handling to UK.
Before ordering, I read the terms and conditions and they sounded reasonable... If during the 14 day trial I was unhappy I was to contact the company, at a given phone number or customer support email, to cancel the next months order; failure to do so would result in a deduction of US$89:00 -59:00 sterling. It was very clear, so I thought it was reliable.
Unfortunately, the $89:00 was deducted from my account before I received the free trial. A few days later I received the trial plus the following months' supply, neither of which I then wanted.
The phone number was problematic and the email address given was invalid. I looked up Davie, Florida -Yellow pages on line and could find neither the address nor a phone contact. It was impossible to speak to a representative or to cancel any further orders.
Fortunately in UK I was able to phone my bank and block any further transactions from this company.
I have learned an expensive lesson.
