Nice scam, if you can get it...
My wife purchased flowers through ProFlowers.com in May and apparently put her email address into the box that says "Sign Up for Email Savings". She thought it was required to get an internet price for the flowers. The site does NOT notify you that by so doing you are signing up for a "membership" in EasySaver.com, nor do you click on a "Confirm" button. The best part is that they never contact you again... Unless you count the $14.95 bill they charge to your credit card each month! [Interesting that $14.95 is a number that most would overlook as a PURCHASE, not a membership fee! Suppose that's not a coincidence either.]
As we never authorized them to charge us $14.95, let alone every month, I will be requesting to have the charges reversed. I see from comments on this and other sites that most seem to get this promised fairly easily. [Why not? I'm sure it's worth it to hire someone to politely cancel charges on the 5% of people who notice so you can continue to collect from the 95% of people who don't! ]
I will follow up with the results and I will be contacting the BBB and the State AG Consumer Fraud Division. However, when they are finally shut down, I am sure they will crawl under another rock and just do it again.
It's just too bad we have outlawed public flogging...
