I bought my laptop last November and 2 1/2 months ago it failed the hard drive went bad OK I can deal with that. I talked to a manager who offered to replace my laptop I felt like everything was going to be OK "My mistake by saying that replacing my laptop was a little drastic and to costly for Compaq, so I took the offered for them to repair the laptop instead of replacing it.
I lost all my client data and had to pay an individual to come over and input all the customer information off my hard copies @ a cost of $250.00
Last night my laptop display started to flicker on and off. Now that 2 issues in the last 3 months or so.
My issue is that my warranty will expire in November and I don't trust this unit. Today when I called I asked for the replacement unit that was offered 3 months prior.
I called Compaq support and after 1hr and 10 minutes of getting bounced around from the level one tech support person then to a supervisor and finally to my personal case manager (David @ (877) 917-4380 Ext 08) who offered me the repair that as offered by the original tech I had spoken to an hour earlier.
To make matters worse "David my personal case manager as he called himself" had the audacity to attempt to sell me a warranty extension to solve my problem about my warranty expiring.
Needless to say I stuck with a problematic unit that will eventually break down on me once the warranty expires!
* Buyers BEWARE *
I should have listened to my son a tech support engineer who insisted on me purchasing a (SONY VAIO)
