Juno.com AKA Net Zero
Rip-off Internet

Like you, we saw the TV ads put out by Juno, comparing the price of AOL and Juno, bragging that their price was less than half of AOL. We had gotten AOL free for a year with the purchase of our computer, but the free period had expired. I always seek a bargain, and wanted to switch immediately. My fiancee was much smarter. She had us keep AOL while we tried out Juno.

First of all, Juno ads don't tell you that you get only ONE email account with a paid subscription. Although a hassle, I figured it was still worth it, since one of us could use the Juno email account, and the other could use web-based email, such as Yahoo or Hotmail. WRONG!

Every time I used Juno to access Yahoo or Hotmail, the same problem occured: it was impossible to type anything into the reply box on any piece of email I had received. Since we were still hooked up to AOL, I logged into AOL and tried the same thing: no problem replying to web-based email through AOL. I have both Hotmail and Yahoo accounts, and both worked with AOL and both did not work with Juno. This proved that the problem was with Juno.

I reported the problem to Juno twice, and twice got back a confirmation that the report had been received. I never heard anything else. The problem was not solved. Noone emailed us to explain what was being done.

Disgusted, I finally called Juno to cancel the account. The person at the other end did not apologize for the problem, did not offer to refund us the money they had stolen by not providing the service we had paid for, and had the gall to ask e if I wanted to talk to a technician to try to solve the problem. Evidently the only way to get a problem solved with Juno is to call and tell them that you want to cancel.

This company has deceptive advertising, steals your money by not providing the service you are paying for, and provides no technical support to reported problems. Yes, AOL is too expensive, but a ripoff like Juno is more expensive.
