I placed an order and entered a code for a 20% discount. With the merchandise certificate I had, the total came to $2.87. I completed my transaction and received a confirmation email.
This morning I received an email notifying me that my card was charged $10.63. When I placed this order, I knew I had $3 available for a charge before I paid my credit card bill. This simple $10 purchase caused me to go over the limit on my card and I have now been charged $30 from the credit card company. Who should pay that? I never authorized NN to take $10 from me. That like offering someone $5 and they take $20. You can't do that!!!
NN says that the code I entered was expired and the disclaimer says they can refuse to accept a code. The disclaimer does not say they can charge an amount different from what you authorize them to charge. The order should have been canceled. I didn't have $10 available for NN news to steal and if I was informed, I could have canceled my order or used another form of payment. This $2.87 order has cost me $40.63. If they can get away with this, I can at least warn the public. Rest assured... There will be more reports filed on other sites.
