Disabled and abused by dell's terrorist debt collection practices!

My current problems with Dell, there have been many, are with the abusive collection practices of Dell Financial Services. I have had previous problems with their support, service, and computers in resolving a cracked screen on my son's lap top due to design problems. That have been resolved to my satisfaction only after emailing, not calling the customer support team. GET IT IN WRITING!!!

However as of late my problems are with Dell Financial Services calling me repeatedly every 3-5 minutes 8-10x EVERY DAY even after I pay the bill!!! Daaays later! Like 3-5 days later. As an ex collector I know this is illegal. If you answer the phone they start reading the script they were given in the best english they can asking where my my pament is, why didnt I pay etc. When I tell them I have paid and to take my name out of the autodialer they say they will.

But still i get several calls all day and for days calling, or just calls with 1 ring then a hang up. So I dont bother picking up before or after I pay.
Now I pay my bill every month, not exactly on time but always before I get a 30 day late because I am currently on disabilty. I have had knee surgery and have severe asthma so have been bed ridden for some months. My money is tight but I pay my bills as soon as I can which is not always on the due date lately.

So I understand the calls, just not the repeated ones, and not days AFTER I had made my payment. Again as a previous collector I know this is possible and very simple to do. They are just not bothering to do so there by wasting your time as well as a lot of their collection reps duplicating the same job, which is why they are too busy to actually RESOLVE anything by phone, just being abusive, uncaring, and unhelpful. So I dont bother answering the phone before or after I make my pament.

The grossest abuse came in June when I was trying to rest in bed right after knee surgery, in severe pain and had trouble breathing.in addition to calling repeatedly every few minutes disturbing my much needed sleep, they seem to have found a way to bypass your voicemail and make the phone keep ringing, until you p/up and hang up. Then they do it again. Now mind you my phone was on the other side of the room and I couldnt reach it. No one else was home at the time to help.

So I had to listen to my phone ringing and over and over waking me up for about 15 minutes before had to pick myself up and CRAWL to the phone in pain and crying because it hurt so much and I having problems breathing! I don't know how they did this, must be new. Maybe they just speed dialed my number over and over. Not sure, but it only showed up as one call when they did that not several. What's so funny is that even though they have my email address they use it only to send promotions and discounts on their appalling customer sevice. Never a late notice reminder, online statment, or a thank you for payment.

I took my cell# off of my account and gave my home phone but they still call. I know they are not obligated by law not to call unless they have it in writing. So I will follow up with an email to them not to contact me by phone again which everyone has the right to do. I have neevr had to do this with a company I am doing business with and am hesitant to do so, but I am at my wits end and have lost my patience. I don't see my financial situation getting better anytime soon in this economy, no any other of their customers.

We are all doing the best we can under the circumstances. And sanctioned legal collection practices I have no problem with. If I am late I should get a call, or calls. But not like this. Dell has already been sued successfully in NY for abusive collection practices. I doubt it was different in any other state. But I havent heard of this new abusive practice of getting around voicemail to keep your phone ring nonstop online yet and I have researched it.

I can't imagine what they have planned next for their customers. This is not Fair Debt collectoin practices. This is terrorist debt collection causing abuse, harrassment and harm to customers who are supposed to be protected by Fair Debt Collection practices which these actions violate. I think this may be indicative of future debt collection practices of other large conglomerate companies who are to big to care about their customers and are worried about there own credit.
I want this practice stopped. I am at the point to where if I had a bill to skip and stop paying all together DELL will be at the top of my list because the rest of my credit companies are calling to see how they can help me make it through.

They're who I will remember when my situatin is better or worse and who I will try to work with because they will be the ones I trust. Mind you I have been a Dell customer for a 10yr and I and my family have bought several computers from them. I just wished their employees worked as well as their computers like they used to back in the good old days...

Has anyone else had these problems with them?!! Any other ideas on what I can do about it? Please get back to me.
