We have had Qwest phone and internet service for a year and a half. For most of that time we received static on the phone line, dropped calls, and the internet would barely work on several days, it would go on and off while we were trying to use it. We could never use the internet for what we intended on using it for, online classes, it was just too undependable.
When we talk to Qwest on the phone it doesn't do any good because they don't understand why our internet doesn't work. Also, during that time we had several repairmen come out to look at it, but none of them knew how to fix the problem. One repairman even told us to climb the pole and fix a problem ourselves.
They did finally agree, after spending nearly a hour on the phone with them, to waive the $200 early termination fee. We don't feel we should have to pay to not be Qwest's customers when our phone service was so poor and the internet didn't work right for the whole year and a half.
What really blew our minds, was when with no communication to us ever, Qwest started to work on a fiber optics line in our yard in late january. With no notice to us what so ever rude men started appearing at our house day after day with large work trucks to work on this big project of Qwest's. This lasted around 3 months. Unknown to us at that time, they have an easement of 10feet by 150feet through our yard.
When we would ask them what they were doing we would receive vague replies and when my wife would ask them a question they would just walk away from her without any reply or would answer rudely as if she had no business asking what was going on on our property. They did manage to talk to her one time as they tried to use our hose and water for their drilling.
These workmen blocked our driveway over 20 times, kept our trash from being pick up by blocking the trash can, destroyed bushes, injured a pet/show rabbit (flemish giant) resulting in his death, helped themselves into our fenced backyard without notifying us, spray painted our property (there is still signs of the spray through out the yard), they trespassed all over the property by not staying in the easement, snooped around looking at our things, and they refused to stop their work on the fiber optic line when we informed them in april that they didn't put the line in their easement (instead they worked on it more quickly to get it up and running).
Qwest still has their line in trespass on our property and it is up and running making them thousands per month. This line can give service to thousands and last forever and yet they never received our permission to have it on our property and we have received no payment for the use of our property. We received the worst service we have heard of for phone and internet, yet, we have a brand new fiber optics line running through our yard.
Qwest gave us a verbal offer of $1500 to obtain another 4feet by 150feet of our property and then forgot what their offer was, but they wanted to know why we wanted the offer in writing.
Qwest has given us the run around and also the BBB the run around and we are all getting tired of the rude treatment Qwest has dished out.
We have received an apology, but the man at the Denver Executive office doesn't understand why his apology didn't make everything all better. We also received a few new bushes to replace the ones they dug a hole through, stepped all over, and parked a truck on for several hours. Most companies would give a refund for the many months of lousy service and quickly fix their mistakes, but Qwest gave us some bushes and an apology.
Who else can steal someone's property and use it for months without ever paying for the use of it. They should be paying us rent for all those months they have been using our property without our permission.
