Noticed charges on my CC statement to this company, even though I'd never ordered anything from them. Called them and they said I'd ordered a Windows tutorial CD-rom (which I hadn't). They said the authorization was good, since the billing address and security code on the CC went through.
When I pressed them for an IP address from which the order was placed they could not provide one (I never block my IP addresses - so they SHOULD have had one if it was legit). I also asked for the email address to which the payment confirmation was sent - they provided me with an address that was totally bogus - nothing even resembling anything I've ever used.
In short - this is a scam. Don't know how they managed all the right info (other than email address) to place the order in their system, but I've now been charged a total of $85.06 for something I never ordered.
With the other complaints I've read, I can see that this is clearly a fraud situation, and I'm pursuing it as such with my credit card company as well as other avenues (consumer advocates).
By the way - did I mention that I design web sites for a living (in a Windows environment) and the notion of me needing to order a tutorial on how to use Windows is utterly ridiculous?!?!
