My story is the same as others here, so I won't bore you with that. Bottom line is, I clearly did not know I had authorized one monthly subscriptions, much less three! Of course, "technically" I authorized it, by automatically checking the box... As so many of us are apt to do. (Lesson learned: read the info before checking the box, particularly if it's not a well-known business.)
I just called the toll-free number. After being on hold a while, I finally got through and asked to cancel. She kept trying to convince me to keep the service (it's her job, I guess); after I said, "I DON'T CARE, I WANT TO CANCEL!" the tenth time, she finally did what I asked. She gave me a different cancellation number for each service. If any of them appear on my statement again next month, I'll let you know.
Rebuttal to the rebuttal: you are technically correct about the authorizations; HOWEVER, it is definitely TRICKY and UNETHICAL. It preys upon the unsuspecting, and considering that many of these folks are trying to get money to go to school or start a business, they may be in financial difficulty to begin with. Shame on you (your company).
