I went online looking at grant writing software. I found GrantSearch and ordered it (after all it was $2.95) about 2 weeks later looking at my credit card online I found a $39.95 charge from www.center4grants.com. I then remembered I received 2 calls with 72 hours after ordering the grant cd, that asked me if I wanted to have their monthly subscription. I said the same thing 2 times. No thanks you, if there is a trial period I will forget to cancel and be charged. Thank you for the opportunity, but I decline your offer.
I was told on both calls that they were being recorded as well. I did a little research to find where I should call. And did call. 1800-479-0979.
I called and got "corey". I explained that I did not authorized this charge and I needed it refunded. He advised that ordering the 2.95 cd authorized the charge, and i was a member of their systems including "Grant Funding" "Express Business Funding" " Network Agenda" and "center4grants.com" and that he could cancel the subscriptions, and no more charges would come.
I told him I needed a supervisor, he advised that because they "valued" my business they would cancel the subscriptions, and refund the $39.95. I got 3 confirmation numbers on for Grant Funding, one for Express Business Funding, and one for Network Agenda. He advised I would not see any further charges.
I will be watching my statements to make sure I get the refund due, and will be contacting the Credit Card that was fraudulently charged, the FTC, my States' Attorney General and the BBB. This report was first though.
