I really don't want to get all into it, but it's a case of the fine print here. As well as only stating the terms in the fine print, to which you then have to continue on to read the 'terms and conditions', this company has very misleading ads. It gives the impression that you are getting a full membership for a promo price by saying things like 'platinum membership now only $1.95'. It does not actually say on the promo page that what you are getting is a trial only. If you read the 'terms' page it does say that you must cancel within 14 days of signup in order to not be charged the current monthly fee. My thought is if it were a reputable company they would CLEARLY state this information in the ad and not in fine print or on the 't and c' page?!?
So what you're actually getting after all the glamour is about a one week trial for $1.95 and if you forget to cancel before 14 days, well regardless whether you actually used the site or not, you get a nice surprise in the form of a hefty charge to the account you originally signed up with. Boo Hoo Hollywood Profiles, you should be ashamed of yourselves!
By the way here is a wacky copy of a conversation I had with what they claimed was a live agent until I asked some questions and got it to tell me it was actually a 'live VIRTUAL agent', that's new, never encountered that before. Bizarre... (Tori is my "live" rep) Honestly the lengths people will go to to get your money!!!
