So this is what is basically going on. My roommate and I decided to get cable and internet in our new apartment. We herd some bad stuff about Comcast so we decided to go threw Qwest. On Monday we gave them a call and talked to one of their people, the woman was having a Monday her words exactly. We were on the phone with her for almost a hour, she told us that she needed a two hundred dollar deposit for something, she did not make things clear. So my roommate and chose to divide the deposit into fifty dollars from me and one-fifty from her, the woman told us that would be no problem so we gave her our information. I She told us that the internet modem was going to be sent via ups and would be here on Thursday. After a long long frustrating confusing conversation we hung up.
The next day I got a letter from my bank that said I owed the one hundred and fifteen dollars, I was angry and confused I thought that I had twelve dollars in there. So I went to the bank and got a printout of my account activity I saw that Qwest took fifty five dollars from me then separately took sixty nine dollars and ninety eight cents overdrawing my account and getting me a twenty five dollar fee as well. I still thought I had twelve dollars so I spent eight dollars and got another twenty five dollar fee. The people at the bank are super nice and they dropped the fees for me and I promptly called Qwest. I got an extremely rude and impatient guy on the phone he was talking to me like I was stupid and didnt know what was going on. He looked all around and said that he could find no trace of what I was talking about and gave me someone elses number.
I called this place and explained my problem to them and they had to transfer me to a different department once I got off hold I had to re tell my story about the wrongful charge and I had to be transferred again sit on hold call someplace else then at the end of this a very nice lady told me that the charge was for the modem that the first lady told me was free, I assumed we would use it and send it back, I explained that to her and she said she would she would replace the sixty nine dollars and ninety eight cents. I spent four hours on the phone with them that day. It was also at the end of the month and with my account in the negative I couldnt pay my rent, I had to borrow money from my dad. So there is no way at all I would have authorized them to overdraw my account.
The next day my roommate checked her account and Qwest had taken two hundred and twenty one dollars from her. So she called then this time and they said it was for the deposit and something else, Im unclear on what. She asked why they took fifty five dollars from me then and they didnt have any records of taking money from me. So after another four hour game of phone tag with rude people we thought we had things taken care of they said that the money, all of it, will be put back in my account within seven to ten business days. So ok I thought were finally done.
Now its been fifteen business days and we got a call from a guy saying he was calling about the money, I gave him all the information and he said he could find nothing. He gave me a different number to call so I did so. The woman that answered was also extremely rude and short with me. I explained the whole problem to her and she said the fifty five was taken from the people who gave me her number, and the sixty nine was put back on march 24, the day we first called them? I dont get it? I checked my balance right before I called her so I knew it had not been replaced and I said it has not been put back and with an attitude she argued it with me and said Let me explain this to you (exact quote) with a tone you use towards a five year old. I said no I understand all of this its been explained to me a thousand times, I need to talk to who ever is in charge. She told me that she would put me on a list and a manager would call me in twenty four to forty eight hours.
