RIP-OFF Internet Rebate Processing Scam!

I, as well as others it would seem, received an e-mail offer for processing rebate offers online. This company offered a module that would help you to set up a business and promised it would be simple and if you aren't satisfied, then they would refund your money.

I bought the 'training' module that walks you through the set-up process. Being late in the evening I shut down and went to bed. The next day the web-site was not working for me to log back in and finish the module. Which, by-the-way, was difficult, at best, to follow and set up. So I called the customer care Phone # (1-866-885-8126).

A technician appologized saying that the web site was experiencing technical difficulties and he too was unable to access it. He promised to e-mail the module to me and promised that someone from the senior staff would call me within 24 hrs to "walk me through the process". Need I say that I received no such call or e-mail?

So, under Angela Penbrook's gaurentee, I called back two days later, (today) to ask for a rebate. I was put on hold and then the line went dead. I called back twice and, while waiting for "the next available representative", the line went dead after about 5-10 minutes. Calling back a third time, I listened to the music while waiting "for the next availalbe representative", and was finally connected with... Ready for this? Three other consumers also calling to demand their money back.

The three of us chatted for a bit and swapped our stories. It seems that they had similar stories... Some of them not even having access to the module at all.

So I called back again, but this time selected the option to talk to a technician again. I was connected eventually and demanded my money back. The tech asked me for my name and e-mail and the last four of the credit card I used. Then she asked me to hold while she processed the refund. I was on hold for no more than 3 seconds top and the line went dead again.

Calling back one last time, I got a recording saying, "your call cannot be completed as dialed. Please check the number and try your call again!" I then called my state's Attorney General's Office to report the incident. After that, I tried calling Penbrook's customer care service number for the next coule of hours and kept getting the "try your number again" recording. Obviously, they have closed down with the flood of calls for refunds as they have never intended to honor their "Satisfaction Gaurenteed Refund Policy" in the first place. It is a total RIP-OFF!

I am now trying to find out where or how to make this available to the proper authorities so that these cyber-bandits can be caught and prosecuted. Also, I would like to find a lawyer who is willing to take the case, should they be caught and prosecuted, of filing a class action suite against them on behalf of all of us who have been victimized by these cyber-con artists!
