Signed up by phone for services that was advertised by Discover Card Sept. I said that I would try this on 6 of our sites for three months and see if their was a difference. They get me the same line about someone doing an evaluation of the site to improve SEO. They assured me that once we tried this that we would want to continue the service on a quarterly basis. When you get their official links to sign in to the system, it is just a collection of minor programs that are either free or sold for minor charge. The program also required you to do all the improvements yourself. I, like many of the people who have written in, also thought Website Pros, Inc Would be DOING something more than just allowing me to use a program. (I already own Webposition gold 3 which is 5 years out of date and yet still more sophisticated than the $56.66 per month for each site.)
They also claim that part of the fee is to get your site (s) included in paid inclusion search engines (Maybe they said 200? Can't remember) Traffic ranking does increase with the number of sites you are listed on. Anyway after using the system (such as it was) for a few days I decided that I would not renew in Dec. I was surprised to see the charge in Jan for the 6 sites again on my credit card automatically. I never received an invoice from Website Pros for the continuing charges.
I left an phone message on the company answering machine and sent an email on January 19th to customer support canceling the service and demanding to credit my charge card. I added that I had seen no increase in links, traffic rankings, phone or internet sales. I was not upset, I just wanted it corrected. I felt that I should have just canceled the day I got a look at the on-line program.
Now my March card statement once again showed charges for all 6 of the sites. I checked my old statements and see that they never credited my account.
We have had some of our websites for over 13 years. This company seems to be another Florida marketing scam. And shame on Discover Card for not screening their preferred vendors on programs like this. We now have the fraud dept. Of the card company reviewing my Jan. Charges. You can find better software for a lot less money.
