Thank Goodness for consumer complaints, or I could have very well been another victim of Worldwide Shopping Network too.
I was enjoying an afternoon surfing on eBay and amusing myself in the gift certificates category with people selling $50.00 gift certificates for 47.00 plus $. 99 S/H, when I came across a $500.00 shopping spree to the Worldwide Shopping Network for $10.50. Since I had never shopped at this particular site, I thought I would see what they had to offer.in the eBay description I read, I already understood that the $500.00 had to all be used at one time, and that I had to pay shipping and handling for each item oot of my own pocket.
What I did not understand is that the Worldwide Shopping Network has very little to offer and some very big shipping and handling costs.
For example, after I did a little online research, I found that for Curves Crush cologne for men, 2.5 oz bottle on Worldwide Shopping Network was $52.50 plus $28.99 shipping and handling (no, I'm not kidding). That is a total of $81.49 for 2.5 oz. Of cologne. But what a great deal because all I have to pay is the s/h of $28.99 and wait 2-6 weeks. Not bad, I guess.
Then, I went online to Wal-Mart.com, and found that the same 2.5 oz bottle of Curves Crush cologne for men was $26.58 plus $5.97 shipping and handling. That is a total of $32.55 I had to pay, and wait 2-5 days? So, I pay $3.56 more and get it 5 weeks and 2 days earlier?
Or I can get in my car and drive the 6 miles to Wal-Mart and pay the $26.58 plus tax ($1.33) and 1/3 of a tank of gas (at $3.24, right now) equalling 1.08 (for the 12 mile round trip ride) and pay a total of $28.99 (No, I did not fix it to work out this way). Oh, and have it right now!
Please before you accept or buy a shopping spree to the Worldwide Shopping Network, visit their store at. Wsnrewards.com/? And see if anything they have is of interest to you. With a name like theirs one would think it is a huge place, but they really do not have a lot and what they do have is mostly overpriced, impractical stuff. Besides, even if it is free, the shipping and handling itself is probably more than you would pay for an item in the first place. Be careful, shop safely!
