Tis the season to be misled!
I ordered 2 items for my sons birthday. One was a Wii video game. The other was a Wii accessory called a Wii Zapper which in effect makes the Wii controler more like a gun for shooting games. The Wii Zapper (with a Wii target game included) was not released to the general public for a couple more days. Fine. So I paid for the item that WAS available as well as PRE-paid for the item that WOULD be available in a couple of days. No problem... So I thought.
While my credit card was charged for the complete order I only received the one in stock item. The relese date for the Zapper came and went. No Zapper, no email... NOTHING!
I let a sufficient amount of time pass as I figured there would be a great demand for this item among gamers and maybe Overstock needed to get RE-stocked before shipping. Nope. No such luck. It seems I gave them way too much credit for their concern for their customers.in FACT, if I hadn't notified THEM about my non-delivery you can damn well bet they weren't going to notify ME! Hell No! It's money in the bank for them and if you don't keep track of it yourself you're SOL!
Long and short of it. They did the usual "oh we don't know how this happened. Blah, blah, bla" routine. Said they couldn't fill the order and then refunded my balance due. As I'm stating here, I told them that God help those who don't keep track of your ordered items. You're easy prey to these virtual stores who advertise an item and have NO INTENTION on following thru with the delivery of same.
Buyer Beware. When is a good deal NOT a good deal? When it's promised by rip-off's like Overstock.com.
Incidentally, the item in question was readily found on other sites for the same price. The idea is the scam of luring you in for the one item knowing you will probably purchase others while you're there. Then pull the rug out from you just as they gained your confidence.
They won't get any more of my business.
The funny part of this whole thing is the GALL they had in sending not one but 2 'Customer Surveys' on their performance!
Their customer service "bites the weenie Riz... With relish!"
