This company will not last long. It will ultimately hurt their yellowpages business as well because I no longer advertise yellowpages with them either because they cannot be trusted. I have now learned a valuable lesson in wasting my money with a company like Ambassador Internet. I used to advertise a pay per click campaign with them when they were using Reachlocal as their provider. All was well when I had a sharp decline in inquiries. I beleive my service was interupted for a month yet I was still charged for a full month of service. I let it go because I was satisfied with the service up to that point and now I realize what a big mistake it was. I gave them a set budget every month and they claimed to have spent the budget towards clicks. Every month I saw a skewed report that shows the number of visits and site activities to a proxy site and how many calls I receive. I started getting suspicious when I started paying attention to my report and realized that my visits and call volume started decreasing every month. I was told by a rep that there was some conversion process that would help detect which keyword at what time would work best to maximize my ROI and over time my campaign would become more efficient. And thus you will never be shown on all of search most of the time. I soon realized that the number of visits was not the number of clicks on my sponsored link but a skewed number of how many people visited my proxy site which may include anyone who bookmarks that page or revisits that site which is something I am not paying for. The number of total clicks per month was what I pay for and that number was a mystery to me and it will never be revealed because than the skimming would be revealed on how much I was being overcharged per average Cost per click. Any client who reads this be very weary of the fact that the reports of visits does not represent clicks when you run a campaign with Ambassador. Also I would be charged every month not knowing if all my budget was spent or how much was left over. As far as optimization, the longer my campaign went on the worse it got. The rep explained that I needed to give them more money and the market is unpredictable and more expensive, but the reason i signed on was because they claimed that they can convert and optimize my campaign so that every month would become more efficient. After 7 months I realized I was the fool and used a different provider. My pay per click is not as bad as Ambassador Internet Promotions and i do see how much is being spent and how much is left over and carried over to the next month. With Ambassador you have no idea what you get for you budget nor do you see and conversion process to improve you performance over time. It's almost as if they spend half you budget and pocket the rest and charge you again for the following months only to short change you again. I am the first to admit that I am not internet savy nor do i know anything about search engine marketing. Now that I read what a former employee did there I can see how the respone of Rick Oller interpretations of "Do we deliver this service free of charge? No. And we don't claim to. When you purchase a plane ticket, do you expect the airlines to divulge their internal costs and overhead required to get you to your destination? When you purchase a television set, do you demand to see the cost of creating each component that goes into the manufacture process, plus shipping, labor costs, and profit margin?" means. I wish I knew this before wasting so much time and money with Ambassador. I challenge anyone to do their own pay per click campaign first and than compare the difference of how much is skimmed from the top! But even someone like me can see that I got ripped off!
