I purchased 60,000 pop under ads from US America Online for $3995.00 to be distributed over a year. My plan was to promote two affiliate websites (Rapid Satellite Direct TV and Dish Pronto Dish Network) that I had obtained from US Online on 1/17/05. My complaint is that I am not getting the returns the salesperson from the company guaranteed when he called my house to peddle the product. He guaranteed a return of a minimum of $6,000 (as worst case scenario) and went as high up as $60,000 (a %1 return as minimum).
I have not made any money whatsoever from the pop under ads. But what is more galling and offensive is the number of visits or "clicks" my websites are getting as a direct result of this very expensive advertizing tool. To be more specific, my websites have received the following clicks per month:
Rapid Satellite - Sept 1 to Sept 16&o clicks
August, 05'&42 clicks
July, 05' — 13 clicks
June, 05' — 38 clicks
May, 05'&89 clicks
April, 05' - 216 clicks
March, 05' - 156 clicks
February, 05'—133 clicks
Dish Pronto - Sept 1 to Sept 16—3 clicks
Aug, 05'—8 clicks
July, 05'— 3 clicks
June, 05'—20 clicks
May, 05'&4 clicks
April, 05'—17 clicks
March 05'—1811 clicks
February, 05'&2 clicks
Please note that the clicks for March for the Dish Pronto account were supplemented for the most part by other traffic purchases I made. The same case can be made for Rapid Satellite for February, March and April. When I decided to isolate the accounts to see the performance of my $3995 pop under campaign, I realized that I was being robbed big time by US Online America Group.
Reason why I want refund
I would like to get my money refunded since I have already seen the performance (or lack thereof) of the advertizing campaign supposedly launched by US Online America Group on my behalf. I have contacted the company on several occasions and they "retooled" the campaign around July the 20th by changing the categories in which the ads were going to be shown. The result has been more of the same as can be seen from the July, August and September results. I tried to contact the company again on August the 9th, 15th, and 23rd to discuss the performance of my campaign once again but they never returned my messages.
But the main point of my complaint is the fact that US America Online grossly and unscrupulously overcharged me for these pop under ads. If we take a look at the prices charged for pop under ad campaigns by some internet businesses, we will see the following prices: i-Web marketing.com charges $149.00 for 100,000 targeted ads; Popundertraffic.net charges $250.00 for 100,000 targeted pop under ads; Paypopup.com charges $230.00 for 100,000 ads; Submitpro.Us charges $195.00, Salesseeker charges $299.00. The most expensive pop under campaign I could find was priced at $599.00. The bottom line is that Us Online America Group overcharged me $3995 for an incompetent 60,000 pop under campaign and this can only be qualified as fraudulent.
