I am so mad right now i could just spit!!! Okay. Here's the situation... Last May i had a very simple outpatient surgery to remove several ovarian cysts... And about 3 days after the surgery i started developing several complications from this surgery. Most of them being neurological, and due to the complications i was forced to quit my full time job, and apply for disability.
Well, in the process of this. Unfortunatley i miscalculated our finances, and i was not able to make any credit card payments in July, so i called all of my credit card companies, most of them 2 weeks before the payment was due, and Dell Financial being one of them, and informed them of what was going on. Most of them were very cooperative... Except for Dell Financial.
At first they said that they would note my account and to just try and make the payment as soon as i could. And i said that as soon as i either found a part time job or my disability went thru, i would try to make some sort of a payment. Well. At first it was okay. And then about 2 weeks ago they started calling... I would take the call at first and tell them the same thing, medical problems, yada yada yada. But then the next day. Another call, so i would answer it... And again they are asking. Where is our money? And i would tell them. The same story. And they kept wanting me to post date a check. And i don't want to do that. I've done that before and have had the company cash the check before the date on the check... Or what if don't have all the money to pay it. Then i will be behind on something else... Well. Now i've gotten to the point where i don't even answer the phone when i see that it is their phone number. They call me anywhere from 6-7 times a day.
I've contacted my Attorney General and they have said that that is considered harrassment so i have filed a complaint against them. And i'm thinking of getting an attorney. And when i told one girl one time that i was going to get an attorney she hung up on me... And tonight i think it was the same girl. She kept trying to overtalk me and i said the same thing. That i had filed a complaint against them for violation of the Fair Collected Debt Act, and that i was contacting a lawyer she said that i could do whatever i wanted. And i started telling her that i could see that if i was 6 months behind in my payments and several thousand dollars behind too, they could hound me like this... But i'm only 21 days and $60 late? Come on... And she hung up on me again!!!
So i called back and got a different person. And her story was that "perhaps we just got cut off" And i said.."Don't even try that... She hung up on me. I know she did, because she did the same thing to me last friday when i tried to talk to her". So I preceeded to tell her the same thing... The whole medical story. And that they were in violation fo the Debt collection act and that i had filed a complaint and that i was getting a lawyer and that i better not receive any more phone calls from them. And she said i will make sure you do not receive any more calls... And i said.."what is your name?"... And hesitantly she gave it to me and i said.."good. I have your name... So if i get one more phone call. Your name will be going on my next report i file with the Attorney General... I have told you guys what is going on... Everyday... It's the same thing. You call me 7 times a day. That is harrassment... I do not deserve this. And it better stop".. And i hung up on her.
I'm so sick of these people. I wish i would of never bought our computer thru them... I've never had any problems until now. Like i said. I could see if i was 6 months behind on my bill. But please... I'm 21 days late... And $60 behind... I don't see why i deserve to be treated like a criminal for being 1 payment behind...
