I bought a Jeep off of ebay motors because the website had so much positive information about how buyers are completely covered from fraud and undisclosed damage.
The jeep I bought had low millage for its year and looked great. Seller said there wasn't anything wrong with it but a small oil leak. However, once I got the Jeep and had a dealership look it over they found over $3000 worth of damage. Well, ebay to the rescue right. Nope.
I jumped through all their hoops only to hear ebay's insurance representative explain to me that very little of the damage is covered under their policy so I wouldn't be getting anything. "This case is now closed, " he said.
Anyone considering buying a vehicle off of ebay needs to realize that they are not covered by ebay's protection policy. Make sure you have the vehicle inspected before any money changes hands.
Ebay needs to protect it's buyers. If they are going to make claims that you are covered in case of misrepresentation they need to stick with it. I demand that ebay reimburse me for the full cost of the vehicle and the shipping. The same thing their website promised me.
