I just happened to look at my bank account online and had seen an unauthorized purchase to a AP9 24Protect Plus. I called my bank because my debit card was used and I had not purchased anything with that card for months. They took the charge off and told me that it was an internet company.
I then went to 24protectplus.com and located their 1-800 # and called. I had talked to a rep named Pete and told him that there was an unauthorized charge on my account from their company. Conversation went like this:
Me: How did you get my debit information?
24PP: Through an internet company.
Me: What company?
24PP: On the internet.
Me: What were the services?
24PP: Internet Services.
Me: Can you be more specific?
24PP: We will cancel your membership at this time. Have a good day. (Hung up)
I went to BBB after this vague conversation and filed a complaint only to see that within the last 36 months this company has had over 3,000 complaints.
My advice is to keep a watch on your bank and credit card statements if this happens to you. Also, go to the BBB to file a complaint even if you feel the company has resolved the situation.
