First of all, our internet connection was only a little faster than dial-up. I don't know why they make their claim that it's as fast as cable or DSL, but. It's not.

Our voice over IP phone service was AWFUL. Calls did not connect. If someone called us, we could not hear them. When we actually did connect, there was an echo that would not go away not matter how many times the Clearwire technical support people came out to look at our equipment or we did troubleshooting. Calls were also dropped in the middle of a conversation.

We then needed to move, beyond our control, because of a corporate relocation. Clearwire is not available in our area. I would not have kept their phone service, and was reluctant to keep their internet service but since I signed a contract, I would have been willing to put up with the internet service in order to not pay a charge to disconnect. But since it is not available in our area, I feel that was out of our control and they should have been understanding.

No. They ripped us off out of $180 to cancel what we felt was already terrible service. Their customer service was even worse. When I called to cancel, I could not hear the operator well because you remember, my VOIP phone was a total joke. I could not hear him and asked a lot of questions and needed him to repeat himself a bit, and he started to repeat himself to me very slowly, talking to me like I was a handicapped toddler instead of a capable adult. He spoke to me as if I was a moron, and I did not appreciate that. I told him as much and he snorted and said he felt that I needed that, since I didn't seem to "get it." I was completely ataken back.

When my credit card was declined because I had forgotten that I had already changed my billing address to my new address, the "customer service operator" (ha ha) got biligerant and snorted "well do you have a more operational card, ma'am. This one must be over the limit." EXCUSE ME?

I paid them their ridiculously large cancellation fee, and hung up the phone.

I would not recommend to Clearwire to anyone. Bad internet connection, HORRIBLE phone service, and their customer service? Rude, rude, rude.
