I bought and received my Dell Computer System after June 19. With the system came a "free" 6 month trial for AOL.
I tried the AOL for a very limited time & not caring for the service, I notified them by the end of September that I did not want it.
Today I received a bill on my charge card for Dec. 25 that I didn't recognize. I called my credit card company & the charge was for AOL service for December & that there was another charge for this month, Jan. 2007. I am arguing these charges.
I called AOL & after an extremely annoying session with an automated system, finally got to speak with a human. The person was nice, took the info but did not address the fact that I had cancelled AOL within the 6 month "free" trial period. The next thing after being put on hold, an automated voice came on to give me a cancellation confirmation number, stating that it becomes active today - Yet I stopped it months ago.
I have since heard that this seems to be a common happening with AOL.
