Ebay
Dishonest, deceptive, lack of customer service

About two months ago my mother opened up an ebay store. During the sign up process everything was fine, we got the store and posted a lot of items on the store, even making our first two sales in the first week. Then, when we tried to list more objects on our site, ebay would not allow us because we had not achieved a certain feedback score yet.

When i contacted "customer service, " (the fact that they can use those words to describe what they do should be a crime in itsself) for her they told me that she should not have been able to open a store in the first place, because she did not meet the criteria of opening an ebay store in the first place.

They told me that she should be able to sale items once she becomes id verified. So she paid the five dollars to do this, but she still couldnt list anything. I again contacted customer service for her and was told that she need to fax them a bunch of information so that they can prove she is who she says she is.

Three days after they sent her this information they cancelled her account and charged her for every item she had posted and a months worth of fees for the website, even though she was only able to actually use the store for about two weeks.

Everytime i try to talk to ebay about this problem, i pretty much get told that its too bad. So im thinking that maybe if everybody on this site that has been burned by ebay (apparantely this is a large number of people) goes to bbb.com and files a complaint on ebay on the same day, and then contacts the better business bureau by phone two days after the complaints are filed, something might be done just because of the sheer numbers of complaints against one company in a matter of days. With all things, surely there is strenghth in numbers when it comes to businesses as well. Im sure that if we do this, and keep pressure on the better business bureau, we can actually do something about ebay instead of just complaining about them.

If anyone is interested in doing this, just reply to this message and then a date can be worked out to file the complaint and then call back to ask the bbb if they have done anything about these complaints. There has to be something that we can do as a unified front.
