I ordered a Fantom external Hard Drive (500 GB) that was supposed to have a $30 rebate with it. I received the hard drive and the only paperwork I could supply to the rebate company (OnRebate.com) were the order confirmation eMail from Buy.com and the Shipping notice for the package.
There were no other "invoices" to supply for the rebate to be valid. I sent them all the correct items such as the UPC symbol from the box and filled out the online and mail-in forms as requested. OnRebate informed me via eMail they could not send the rebate check because no invoice was enclosed (which was an outright LIE). I followed up their eMail with both Buy.com's support staff and OnRebate's customer support but neither have replied and the time has past for a re-issuing of the rebate materials.
I will never purchase anything from either Buy.com again or any company that uses the OnRebate.com service. As far as I am concerned, they are both dead to me.
