I joined Emerald Passport through Patricia Winston and, very foolishly, purchased phase I and phase II products all at the same time. Phase II is a conference that is supposed to provide insights on investing and offer opportunities not 'available' to the average person. Patricia Winston told me she herself was involved in an investment wherein she contributed $50,000 a year and in 5 years she would be receiving $1,000, 000.
The conference held May (at a cost of over $6,000) was held in Nassau, Bahamas. All travel and hotel/food accomodations are separate and paid for by the attendee. First, the hotel. It was the Radisson Beach and Golf Resort and it's scheduled to be torn down and renovated in January. It was filthy, covered in mold due to the dampness; the food was barely edible. This was the first class accomodations that you 'had' to make through EMP.
The day before the conference was to begin, I had a medical emergency. I spent all Sunday night and early Monday A.M. (3-5 A.M.) at the Doctor's Hospital and was advised by the residing physician that the medical equipment necessary to treat my condition was NOT to be found on the island and I should return to the United States immediately or run the risk of losing my eyesight. I stopped only long enough to pack and write a note to the leaders of Emerald Passport telling them of my condition and asking for a refund. I left that morning at 6 A.M. The cost of the return flight was in addition to the original travel costs as was the hopital bill.
I had lazar surgury upon my return. I did not hear from anyone. Patricia Winston who constantly talks about 'team' and 'support' did not send me an email nor call. When I called her I asked about a refund. It took another week and a half for her to respond with an obviously coached email about how I could go to the next conference and they wouldn't charge me!!! Which meant that I would have to, once again, pay for travel and lodging as well.
I sent her a registered letter asking for either my money or the material by October 15th. This from a woman who claims to be making over $40,000 a month! I've not heard a word nor have I received any information or material. Re the conference and its 'quality', I've talked to another person who attended and was told that it was like one big advertising block. The speakers got up and plugged themselves, then asked money for more information. There wasn't any insightful investment offers or strategies. Totally a ripoff.
You cannot find anything out about Patricia Winston. She is hidden under LLCs and trusts.in fact, if you ask her, she'll tell you how to do it to 'protect yourself.' Be very careful with these people. They DO NOT have anyone's interest at heart but their own. I know there are other people who've experienced this with Winston and Emerald Passport (I heard them shouting out on the conference calls). I hope they'll write about their experience.
One more thing, Winston offers advertising packages to make it 'easier' for you to find customers. Not one of their packages, time after time, brought anything even close to what she said it would.in retrospect, I think the advertising was just another way for them to put some extra dollars in their pockets. BE CAREFUL!!!
I will continue to try to recoup the money I spent on this conference.By the way, there is nothing in the contract that I signed that says the money is non refundable in the event of a medical emergency.in fact, the morning I left the Bahamas, I spoke to the 2nd in command at the conference and he told me that this had never happened before and he was sure that everything would be fine! Right!
