My $500 refund has been withheld without cause

They stole $500 from me. That is the amount they are supposed to refund to my credit card. Greg Morgan first told me he would refund the money on July 25. To date I haven't received a dime.

I will not make any judgements about the quality or legitimacy of the leads that BuzzQuotes sells. What I will tell you is that Greg Morgan and his cohort have violated the contract that I entered into with Buzzquotes.

The contract that I signed with them clearly states under item 6, Termination:
Upon termination, any credit balance remaining from the pre-payment/deposit will be promptly applied and credited to the Agent...

I'll just stick to the facts and you can come to your own conclusion about whether this is a company you want to do business with.

During the time my account was active I received 3 valid auto insurance leads. Each lead costs $11.75. I made an initial deposit of $500 and I received a $50 lead credit. So $550 minus $35.25 equals $514.75. I don't expect them to give me back more money than I gave them, so they owe me $500.

Here's the timeline of events:

June 15
I opened a BuzzQuotes account and my credit card was charged. My account representative was Dan Wittenberg and I funded the account with $500, which entitled me to a $50 lead credit. He told me that I could cancel at anytime for a refund of my remaining account balance.

July 5
Spoke to Dan Wittenberg, my account representative, and told him I wasn't pleased with the service and was going to cancel. He told me that cancellation of the account required two weeks notice. He told me that in order to cancel I needed to send an email to: [email protected]

July 5
Sent email requesting cancellation of account.

July 25
Called and spoke to Greg Morgan, manager/owner. Greg Morgan says he is going to credit the account for $500 - the credit should be there by Monday (7/31/06) or Tuesday of next week.

August 2
Called and spoke to Dan Wittenberg, my account representative. I told him Greg had promised me a refund by now. He told me I could expect to receive my refund in one or two days.

August 8
Called and spoke to Josh Zigman. He told me that Dan Wittenberg was just working in the business for the summer and that he had gone back to school. Josh Zigman is now handling all of Dan's accounts. Josh told me that he has worked at BuzzQuotes since day one and he assured me that he would see to it that I received my refund. Josh told me that Greg Morgan is the one who actually "pushes the button" to get refunds issued. Josh is going to talk to Greg and someone is going to call me tomorrow to update me.

August 9
No one from BuzzQuotes called me as promised.

August 14
Called and spoke to Greg Morgan, manager. He told me they didn't get me the refund yet because they needed my card's CCV code (the 3 digit code on the back following the card number). I provided him with my CCV code. He said that I should get the refund by Wednesday (8/16/06) or Thursday.
