One day after having pulled a 12 hour shift at night I was awakened from sleep by a pernacious telemarketer who was determined to make a sale. All he wanted was for me to try a free trial of this computer service. Of course I had to give him my credit card information for a nominal charge.
I thought nothing of it. Imagine my surprise when I got a whopping bill for $49.95, and an additional $19.95.
I called the number on my bill and was told that I had passed the free trial and was billed for membership. The other charge was for a cd I never recieved.
I was justifiably irate and told the lady I wanted my money refunded. I explained I had never accessed the website or recieved a cd. She reluctantly refunded the money.
But not the money the bank charged for the overdraft the company caused.
However, when I got another $19.95 charge again this month, I hit the roof. I called and told the lady I was going to charge the company with fraud. I told her I wanted all my financial information wiped out of their system completely.
She stated it must have been an error and that I would be getting a cd in a day or two. She again stated that she would refund my money.
I am very upset about this. How can we let a company do this? Can anybody suggest anything for me to do that will put an end to this financial harrassment?
