I signed up for their "free" credit report, and they signed me up for their 30-day "free" trial of their credit monitoring service. I thought "I don't really want this, but whatever."
Now I've receieved a letter from my bank saying that there has been a $79.95 charge for services from them, and that there were insufficient funds in my account. Fortunately, my bank has overdraft insurance, so there was no extra charge for it.
I called my bank and they stated that I probably should cancel my check card so they can't make further charges, because even if I cancel, their computer might automatically charge me.
I called the company, and told them that I wanted to have my account cancelled and my money refunded. They said that it would take 7-10 days to get me a refund (of course, can't do it in a day or two, takes them a week to give up your money). I did inform them that if I received any further charges from them or did not receive a refund within 10 days, I would be conducting legal action.
Whether or not I receive what I've been told I'd get, I will let you know.
