We had a bill from a "HDI*Simpleescapes" company for $169.95. When I called the phone number on the bill, I found that they provide a "discount" plan for various purchases (e.G., with online stores such as The Company Store and Domestications). When I further searched on the web I found the consumer complaints web site with a number of other posts with the exact same issue: we were unknowingly signed up for some "30-day trial" of this discount plan, that later turned into a yearly charge of between $150 and $170 per year! We never got any single piece of information on this plan, either via email or regular mail, and the credit card bills have an "HDI" in front of the charges (as does our charges for The Company Store and Domestications) that makes it seem that all these companies are basically the same: retail outlets for household items.
We have contested the most recent bill (for $169.95) but may never get the previous ~$400 that this criminal company has been charging our credit card since July.
I suggest searching your credit card for this company if you have EVER done business with either The Company Store or Domestications. Plus, I am never going to make another purchase from these two stores as a protest for them doing business with this fraudulent Simple Escapes company!
