In December I purchased 2 Sony CDRW drives for my children for Christmas. These $10.00 connect cash cards were included as a promotion with the purchase of the drives. Tried to use them today, 04/10/06, and was told the program expired on 04/01/06.
Nowhere on the cards was there an expiration date, only under terms of acceptance did I read that after 12 months of non-use, $1.00 per month service fee would be deducted from the remaining balance until depleted, except where prohibited by law. I can' register them now, as I'm 10 days out of the promotion. Last time I ever buy a Sony Product. I thought it a good deal at the time, with a rebate and the free music downloads, too bad they ripped me off on the music downloads part.
Nowhere was there an expiration date on the promotion, or I may have tried to use them a month or two earlie, but I thought I had up to 12 months to use them. I figured they were as good as cash up to a year, not four months as in my cash. False and misleading. Beware of Sony promotions, they change the terms at will.
