Alleged free Credit Report, ripoff

Last year I had responded to an ad via Yahoo for a free credit report. They took my information, stated they weren't able to process my information and then proceeded to withdraw money out of my checking account via my debit card. They charged my account 2 x's for $79.95 within the same year.

After bouncing a few checks I went to my bank and they traced it back to this company. The bank refunded my money and the bounced check fees. I provided them with all the information that I could on the company, but at the time it was minimal.

Today I received an email alleging there is a refund possible due to their "alleged" actions, I need to simply respond to the mail or call their office to receive my refund. Is this legitimate?

I searched the company on the internet and didn't find anything to show this is legitimate. I don't intend to respond until I can confirm this isn't just another attempt to get personal information and rip me off again.

Was there a class action law suit? Would the FTC inform me of such legal action against this company?
