Back in March I went online to consumerinfo.com to view my "FREE" Credit Report. I pulled the "report" and realized the only information provided was from Experian.
Once I pulled the report, I noticed there was some important information missing and then contacted the other major credit bureaus to find out the real story. I found the information there which was missing on the "Free" credit report from the comsumerinfo.com report.
Then, today, as I was checking my Bank account statement, I noticed a charge of $79.95 from CIC Credit Monitoring! Not having ever heard of this company, I tracked down this site (very easily) via Yahoo!
I called the TollFree # and spoke with a woman there who was not at all surprised I was calling to dispute the $79.95 charge to my account. She verified the information regarding my "account" with CIC/consumerinfo.com and then told me my account is now closed and I will see a credit on my account for $79.95. We'll see how long that takes!
I am extremely upset by the charges in the first place considering there was never a mention of them when I was obtaining my "free" credit report. I will place an update when I receive the $79.95 credit to my account.
Please do as I am going to do and tell others about the underhanded operations of this Company! I can only imagine how many others have been duped and never even realized it.
Good luck and thanks to whoever placed this complaint site on the web!!
