I purchased several stones from icgems.com, including 2 red Andesine stones weighing over 4 carats each. The photos that depict all of the red andesine stones on the site show a cherry red stone with no banding or discolorations. They are labeled as "eye clean."
I received the stones and they have huge, awful white bands of discoloration. They are glaringly obvious and make the stones ugly. I wouldn't pay a quarter for a stone like that!
I have been assured that I can return the stones for a full refund. I will return them and keep my fingers crossed. However, I am still out over $75 in shipping and insurance fees. I am NOT happy about that.
I have never purchased gems from a dealer that lacked such obvious information as horrible discolorations in the stone. The photos of the stones were obviously touched up. I will not be doing business with icgems.com again.
