I found a monitor on tigerdirect.com that I wanted to buy from them listed $219.99 after rebate.
I called them directly to purchase. I spoke to one of their sales representatives, Danny Rodriguez.
He proceeded to quote me a price of $249.99 after rebate. I told him that wasn't the price their website listed it as a few hours ago. Fortunately, I had printed off the web page for proof. I scanned it and emailed it to him as requested.
He replied, "thanks Kelly ~
The printout is not from our website, that is not our HTML format.
This ad is a broken link from a different website that advertises our product & needs to be updated on their end
I'd be happy to place the order but for the price adv on our website..."
THAT IS A BALD-FACED LIE! I have the page to prove it! I went directly to tigerdirect.com's website originally. The HTML code is clearly on the bottom of my page. He chose to turn it around (or misread it).
After sending him a polite response, directing him to look at the bottom of the page, he hasn't replied further.
They've lost major business from this, as I work for a state university. The folks in our computer information department are aware of their shady dealings now.
Be warned about tigerdirect.com!
