Ripoff buyer beware! Here's why they lost my business

I was thrilled when overstock first came out and gave them a lot of business. I recently began making several online purchases after a 2-3 year hiatus, and my recent experience with them has been horrible. First of all, shame on me for not reading their current return policy. It was such an inconvenience and so time-consuming. They claim to make it easy, that they accept return merchandise while their competitors do not. Actually, I found that their competitors do accept returns, and much more efficiently and conveniently. I could not process the return online and had to spend a lot of time online and on the phone trying to take care of it.

After some time, and after deducting $5 for each item for re-stocking fees, they would not refund the money, but told me it had to be a store credit. The credit never showed up in my account info, but I figured out on my own that it did show up as a "coupon" when I try to place an order; however, each item returned was entered as a separate coupon and you can only be used one at a time (if a whole one isn't used, it carried over, so that your next order only gets the nine cents left over from the previous credit, and it does not count toward shipping). I was stuck having to place several orders just to use up my credits, and ended up paying out more money. Very clever.

From now on, the SMART thing to do will be to get my BARGINS from their competitor.
